Hello and welcome to my blog.  My first entry at the very beginning was entitled “Welcome to my world”.  I had posted an intoduction  there.  You  are welcome to read it.  There is a quote .  Until recently, I didn’t know there was an “About” page.  I am new to blogging.

Movies:  Life is Beautiful, Under the Tuscan Sun,  A Christmas Story,  Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve got Mail,  Kate and Leopold ( all with Meg Ryan),  Seabiscuit, Waitress,  Pirates of the Caribbean,  Curse of the Black Pearl, All Meryl Streep movies, Diane Keaton movies, Monsters, Inc. (it is a so funny especially when they vacuum the sock off ),  Garfield , The sound of Music,  Titanic. 

Favorite Books:

Educating Alice, Adventures of a curious Woman,  A dog’s Life,( very funny perspective in Provence), Listen to your heart, The space between us, The Sixth Extinction.

Favorite Television:

Any movie on Turner Classic Movies, from 1940’s-50’s,( There’s something about the slow pace of the movie that makes me want to sit on the sofa with a cup of tea and  be absorbed in that time.)  Travel channel  ( me, the armchair traveler), the Food Network, (I  like reading new recipes all the time),  National Geographic channel,  Discovery channel, Channel 7 t.v. show.s, (Ugly Betty) ,  WABC, Good Morning America, Channel 13 programs,  Animal Planet,  AFV America’s Funniest Videos. 

How I Discovered blogging:

After discovering by accident one blog from Finland while on a google search, called” White country “,  I realized that there was a whole new world out there in cyberspace.  It was really interesting to see other parts of the world.  I now enjoy seeing other parts of the U.S.A.,  too through many wonderful photos.  There are many places I would like to travel to;  vacation time does not come all that often.  At least it’s not like some countries in Europe.  While on a short vacation in Hawaii this past summer, we met a married couple from Sweden staying at the same place we stayed at.   They had vacationtime  for about 5 weeks or more in a row.  They had just spent time in Japan, and stayed on Ohau, Hawaii  before I met  them on our island;  After spending two weeks in Hawaii, they explored   California and neighboring states.

The Swedish husband told me that he believed in working,  but that it is important to take time off to rest and relax, and renew the body, and said not to overwork.  Prior to this , I had mentioned about my job and how of late  that we were working 6 days per week on most weeks of the year due to staffing shortages.  He had said that it wasn’t good.  I agreed with this.  You get behind on daily life’s to do list.  And not much time for enjoyment.
 
Alas, there are so many blogs to read.  My list of favorites is ever-growing.  After posting on cows, an automatically- generated blog appeared  on someone’s ranch land with cows.  I  did not have enough time to write it down and it disappeared when the computer closed it’s window suddenly.   I tried to google search,  on cows.  It is nearly impossible, there are so many pages on the inquiry that there aren’t enough hours in the  day to find it.  Here’s hoping one day that I will find that intriquing post.  Because of that experience,  when I read a new blog,  I add  to favs right away and create categories.

Yeah! for past couple of weeks,  I had two days off.   Just in time for the lowered price in gas for the car. With the such high price of fuel, I would stay home more often and combine trips to conserve.  I still do.
